UM Tops Scopus Ranking, Leading Research in Davao Region

Davao City, Philippines — The University of Mindanao conducted a two-day Research Publication Writing Workshop on December 4–5, 2025, bringing together faculty members from the main campus and all branch campuses.

The workshop aimed to strengthen faculty research and publication skills, particularly in producing high-impact academic papers for international journals. It was facilitated by experts from Global Health Focus (GHF), led by Prof. Don Eliseo Lucero-Prisno III, Founder of GHF. He was joined by Jerico Ogaya, National Program Manager, and Christian Joseph Ong, National Program Associate.

The speakers shared practical strategies and advanced techniques to help faculty members improve their research writing, publication success, and global research visibility.

In addition to the training, the event also marked a significant achievement for the University. Global Health Focus formally recognized UM as the Top Scopus Producer in the Davao Region for 2024, based on its research output indexed in the Scopus database.

The recognition highlights the strong commitment of UM’s faculty and academic community to producing quality, impactful, and globally competitive research. University officials noted that the award reflects UM’s continued efforts to contribute to global knowledge and strengthen its standing in national and international research rankings.
