UM to Host 12th AIMS National Review Meeting in 2026

Davao City, Philippines - The University of Mindanao (UM) took part in the 11th Asian International Mobility for Students (AIMS) National Review Meeting held from October 7–10, 2025, and hosted by Batangas State University. The event gathered representatives from 17 Philippine Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) actively participating in the AIMS program, including three newly joined member institutions.

UM was represented by Mr. Reynaldo Castro, Vice President for External Relations and International Affairs, and Ms. Izza Aima Montederamos, Linkage Officer.

The meeting served as a vital platform to:

  • Present the collective achievements of Philippine HEIs in advancing student mobility across the Asian region;

  • Explore innovative strategies to expand student participation in the AIMS program; and

  • Review and enhance policies and guidelines to further improve program implementation.

Managed by the SEAMEO Regional Centre for Higher Education and Development (SEAMEO-RIHED) and supported by participating Asian countries, the AIMS program continues to be a cornerstone initiative promoting regional student exchange and higher education cooperation.

Looking ahead, UM is honored to announce that it will host the 12th AIMS National Review Meeting in 2026, reaffirming its strong commitment to internationalization and academic collaboration. This milestone also holds historical significance for the university, as UM hosted the 1st AIMS National Review Meeting in 2013, shortly after the Philippines joined the AIMS consortium.
