UM Strengthens Global Presence at the Frankfurt Buchmesse Fair

The University of Mindanao (UM) proudly represented the Philippines at the Frankfurt Buchmesse Fair (FBF) held from October 14–17, 2025, in Frankfurt, Germany — the world’s largest and prestigious gathering of authors, researchers, publishers, and educators.

Leading the delegation was Dr. Ronnie V. Amorado, UM’s Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs, who presented the university’s latest research and publication titled “Pedagogy of Fraud: Online Cheating Practices in Online Classes.” His presentation drew attention to the growing academic integrity challenges in virtual learning environments and highlighted UM’s proactive stance in promoting ethical education practices.

Dr. Amorado also shared his insights on the emerging role of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in Philippine Higher Education Institutions (PHEIs), emphasizing how responsible AI integration can enhance teaching, research, and academic management. His participation underscored UM’s commitment to engaging in global conversations that shape the future of higher education.

In line with its internationalization agenda, UM also conducted benchmarking meetings with the German Accreditation Council and the German Higher Education Institutions Rectors’ Association. These engagements opened doors for potential collaborations in research, micro-credentialing, and academic exchange programs, further advancing UM’s global linkages with leading European institutions.

Through its participation in the Frankfurt Buchmesse, the University continues to expand its global reach, championing knowledge creation, innovation, and meaningful international collaboration in higher education.
