UM Participates in 19th AIMS Annual Review Meeting in Malaysia

Davao City, Philippines - The University of Mindanao attended the 19th Annual Review Meeting of the Asian International Mobility for Students (AIMS) programme last November 4–6, 2025, in Putrajaya, Malaysia.
Linkage Officer Ms. Izza Montederamos represented the university at the event, joining other representatives from Philippine AIMS member schools and the Commission on Higher Education.

UM’s participation demonstrated the university’s ongoing commitment to strengthening academic partnerships with international institutions across Southeast and East Asia while advancing SDG 4 - Quality Education. Every year, UM sends outbound students to universities in the region through this government-funded mobility program, allowing students to study abroad for one semester. Participating countries included the Philippines, Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia, Brunei Darussalam, Vietnam, Cambodia, South Korea, and Japan.

The AIMS Programme, a SEAMEO-RIHED regional initiative, supports student mobility and fosters collaboration in higher education among Asian countries, providing valuable cross-cultural learning experiences, promoting academic excellence, and contributing to the achievement of SDG 4 by ensuring inclusive and equitable quality education.
