UM Hosts Ukrainian Ambassador for Courtesy Visit and Global Affairs Lecture

Davao City, Philippines — The University of Mindanao welcomed Yuliia Fediv, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine to the Republic of the Philippines, for a courtesy visit with the University’s top officials.
Joining the Ambassador were Guillermo P. Torres Jr., President and CEO; Gloria E. Detoya, COO; Edgardo O. Castillo, CIO; Sandra G. Angeles, CFO; Ronnie Amorado, Senior VP for Academic Affairs; and Reynaldo C. Castro, VP for External Relations and International Affairs.

The engagement highlighted UM’s unwavering commitment to international cooperation and academic diplomacy, strengthening its connections with global partners and enhancing the University’s role as a hub for informed discourse on pressing international issues.
Following the courtesy call, Ambassador Fediv delivered a public lecture titled “The Ukraine-Russia War: How It All Started and Where It Is Headed — Implications and Trajectories for ASEAN and the Globe”, held at the UM Auditorium, DPT Building, UM Matina Campus. The lecture provided timely insights into the roots and potential future of the conflict, as well as its implications for ASEAN and the global community, enriching the UM community’s understanding of contemporary international affairs.
