UM Bags 4 Medals at FIMiEx 2025 in Malaysia

Davao City, Philippines — The University of Mindanao won four medals at the FIMiEx 2025 Faculty Industrial Management (FIM) International Innovation Exhibition, held on November 29–30, 2025, in Kuantan, Pahang, Malaysia.
The international event, hosted by Universiti Malaysia Pahang Al-Sultan Abdullah, featured 112 innovation entries from universities and institutions in Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore, and the Philippines.
UM Team A earned two gold medals—one in FIM Innovation and another in the Youth Entrepreneurship Challenge. The awards were given for LUPA, an artificial intelligence–powered farming guide that assists farmers from planting to harvest, and Sobear, a naturally flavored candy designed to help reduce alcohol intoxication and improve tolerance.

UM Team B also received two medals, winning gold in the Youth Entrepreneurship Challenge for TanimPro, a farm productivity tool that combines modern technology with traditional farming methods. The team also secured a silver medal in FIM Innovation for Dayami BioFilm, a fully compostable packaging material made from rice straw.
Both teams presented their projects to a panel of industry experts, who offered feedback to help improve and strengthen their business ideas.
The strong performance of the UM teams reflects the University’s continued efforts to promote innovation and entrepreneurship and to compete successfully on the international stage.
