UM and UNO-R Sign MOU to Strengthen Academic and Research Collaboration

The University Of Mindanao(Official Page) (UM) and the University of Negros Occidental - Recoletos (UNO-R) formalized their partnership through a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) signing held last April 3, 2025 at the DPT Conference Room of the University.
The MOU highlights both institutions’ shared commitment to strengthening academic exchange, joint research initiatives, and innovation-driven activities. The event featured messages from representatives of both universities and a presentation on the MOU’s significance delivered by DOST-PCIEERD Balik Scientist, Dr. Khino J. Parohinog.

Representing the University of Mindanao were Ms. Sandra Angeles, Acting President and Chief Finance Officer; Ms. Gloria Detoya, Chief Operating Officer; Dr. Eugenio S. Guhao, Jr., Chief Academic Officer; Mr. Edgardo Castillo, Chief Administrative Officer; Dr. Maria Linda Arquiza, Vice President for Research and Publication Center; and Dr. Chosel P. Lawagon, Assistant Vice President for Natural Sciences and Innovation Studies. Representing UNO-R was Engr. Ashraf R. Khater, Director of the Research and Development Office.

The ceremony concluded with a benchmarking activity at the Center of Green Nanotechnology Innovations, Coleoptera Research Center, and the Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, and Civil Engineering Laboratories of UM.
This collaborative effort supports the advancement of the following United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) 𝗦𝗗𝗚 𝟰: 𝗤𝘂𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗘𝗱𝘂𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻, 𝗦𝗗𝗚 𝟵: 𝗜𝗻𝗱𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗿𝘆, 𝗜𝗻𝗻𝗼𝘃𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗜𝗻𝗳𝗿𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗿𝘂𝗰𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲 and 𝗦𝗗𝗚 𝟭𝟳: 𝗣𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗻𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽𝘀 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗚𝗼𝗮𝗹𝘀
