Tourism Management Students Triumph in City Skills Olympics and Asia MICE Challenge

Davao City, Philippines - The University of Mindanao’s BS Tourism Management students showcased excellence both locally and internationally in 2025, bringing pride to the College of Hospitality Education.

Locally, the students triumphed at the 1st Davao City Tourism Skills Olympics 2025, held on November 10, 2025, at Rogen Inn. UM proudly claimed top honors in the competitions, earning Champion – Tour Guiding and Champion – Tourism Circuit Package Proposal. The event, hosted by the Davao City Government and the City Tourism Operations Office (CTOO), highlighted the talent and skills of Davao’s future tourism professionals.

On the international stage, UM also made its mark at the 10th AFECA Asia MICE Youth Challenge 2025 in Jakarta, Indonesia, representing the Philippines among 22 universities worldwide. Team UM clinched the Most Knowledgeable Award, while Christian Marl Tatad was recognized as the Most Knowledgeable Presenter, standing out for his exceptional presentation skills. The team also received recognition as Official Delegates and Contestants for AFECA 2025.

These achievements underscore the UM Tourism Program’s commitment to excellence, innovation, and global competitiveness in hospitality and tourism education.

UM continues to inspire students to reach new heights, turning local success into international recognition, and setting the bar high for future tourism professionals.
