Top 10 Student Leaders: UM’s Clifford Danduan Ranks 7th Nationwide at OSLP 2025

Davao City, Philippines - Exemplifying leadership, excellence, and commitment to service, Clifford James L. Danduan, a 4th-year Bachelor of Arts in Communication student from the University of Mindanao–Main Campus, was recognized as one of the Outstanding Student Leaders of the Philippines (OSLP) 2025, securing the 7th spot among 202 nominees nationwide.

The awarding was part of the 1st Outstanding Student Leaders’ Convention and the 5th International Training-Workshop for Student Affairs and Services, organized by Transforming Advocates and Champions (TRAC) Philippines. The event was held from September 29 to October 3, 2025, at the Venus Parkview Hotel in Baguio City, bringing together exemplary student leaders, educators, and practitioners in student affairs from across the country.

The convention served as a platform for young leaders to share best practices, strengthen their leadership capacities, and promote student empowerment in higher education. Through plenary sessions, workshops, and panel discussions, participants explored innovative approaches to leadership, advocacy, and institutional engagement.

Danduan’s recognition stands as a testament to his dedication to excellence and service within and beyond the university. His achievement also reflects UM’s commitment to cultivating globally competitive, socially conscious, and community-oriented leaders empowered to make meaningful contributions in nation-building.

This milestone reinforces UM’s adherence to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 4 - Quality Education by fostering holistic student development, and SDG 17 - Partnerships for the Goals through active participation in national and international collaborations that advance student leadership and higher education excellence.
