Shaping Future Educators Through Innovation and Practice
The College of Teacher Education (CTE) of the University of Mindanao – Main Campus took center stage at the 1st Teacher Education Student Summit 2025 held on April 24 at the Tagum New City Hall Atrium. With the theme “Sustainability in Practice: Experiential Learning for Teacher Education,” the event brought together future educators from various institutions to explore innovative and sustainable approaches in teaching.
CTE-UM Main students actively participated in both the plenary sessions and competitions. They gained valuable insights from keynote speakers like Dr. Reynaldo T. Castro, who emphasized the need to integrate the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in teacher education, and Mr. Eric John G. Emberda, who highlighted the role of artificial intelligence in modern classrooms.

Demonstrating excellence, the CTE delegates proudly clinched 1st and 3rd place in the quiz bee competition, reflecting their academic preparedness and commitment to innovation. The summit became a platform not only for friendly competition but also for reaffirming the CTE’s strong advocacy for sustainability, collaboration, and transformative learning in future classrooms.
By promoting forward-thinking pedagogy and aligning its efforts with Sustainable Development Goal 4 (SDG 4): Quality Education, the College of Teacher Education continues to equip future educators with the knowledge and tools necessary to create inclusive, equitable, and future-ready learning environments.
