Research and Technology in Focus at UM’s 4th IET Congress 2025

The University of Mindanao successfully hosted the 4th Institute of Emerging Technologies (IET) Student Research Congress and Faculty Research Forum 2025, uniting forward-thinking scholars and professionals under the theme: "Harnessing Industry 4.0: Uniting Engineering, Architecture, and Computing for a Resilient Tomorrow." Held at AVR 2, UM Matina Campus, last May 13, 2025.
The event served as a dynamic platform for students and faculty to showcase groundbreaking research, promote interdisciplinary collaboration, and explore transformative innovations in the fields of engineering, architecture, and computing.

This year’s congress spotlighted cutting-edge projects and sustainable solutions that embrace the power of Industry 4.0, highlighting its potential to reshape industries, urban landscapes, and environmental strategies in the face of global challenges.
The event directly aligns with several UN Sustainable Development Goals, reinforcing UM’s commitment to global citizenship and responsible innovation: SDG 9: Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure, through the promotion of research that strengthens technological advancement and industrial growth. SDG 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities – by envisioning smarter, more resilient urban environments through architectural and engineering innovation, and SDG 13: Climate Action, by championing data-driven and tech-based responses to the escalating climate crisis.

As the world navigates rapid technological evolution, UM continues to empower its academic community to drive change and shape a sustainable, inclusive future. Events like the IET Congress reaffirm the university’s role as a catalyst for innovation and resilience in the digital age.
