Onward with Mission: UM Wildcats Competes in Shell Eco-Marathon Asia-Pacific & Middle East 2025

The UMindanao Wildcats once again showcased their innovative inventions at the recently concluded Shell Eco-Marathon Asia-Pacific & Middle East 2025. This event aims to bring together brilliant young minds from around the globe to innovate energy-efficient vehicles.

The UM Wildcats were one of three teams that represented the Philippines in this prestigious competition, demonstrating our eagerness to uphold the spirit of our core values on the global stage.

His Excellency, President Guillermo P. Torres, along with Mr. Edwin Torres, was also present during the competition.

The University’s participation aligns with SDG 4 (Quality Education) and SDG 9 (Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure) by promoting advanced engineering education and fostering innovation in automotive technology. SDG 7 (Affordable and Clean Energy), SDG 13 (Climate Action), and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals). This involvement aims to strengthen sustainability efforts by creating sustainable vehicles, to help reduce environmental impact and combat climate change, and to forge alliances worldwide.

The event took place at the Lusail International Circuit in Doha, Qatar. The UM Wildcats attended on February 8-9 for their Technical Inspection and Practice, and the actual competition occurred on February 10, 2025.
