LM Students Achieve Prestigious Recognition at Ayala Young Leaders Congress

MR. JERU SHALLOM A. MANUEL, a third-year student pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Legal Management and the current President of the LEXIUM organization, reached a noteworthy milestone by participating and qualifying in the esteemed Ayala Young Leaders Congress from July 1-6, 2024, sponsored by the Ayala Group of Companies. This year, the Congress received applications from 3,000 nationwide candidates representing different colleges and universities. However, only 150 students made it to the final round, which involved a panel interview with the President of BPI, including members of senior management from Ayala Land and Ayala Foundation. Among the selected groups, only 50 were chosen. MR. MANUEL is one of the two to represent Davao - the six-day program aimed to enrich and inspire young leaders coming from various regions of the country.

The six-day program aimed to develop and motivate young leaders from various regions of the country. This activity featured blazing speeches from entrepreneurs and business leaders who generously shared their skills and competencies with students. These presentations shared important learning concepts and provided a place for students to learn more about leadership and how it can help them be successful in business. In addition to the official lectures, the students are also encouraged to socialize with the senior Ayala management officers during lunch breaks. This informal networking paves the way for potential connections and forges possible careers with the Ayala Group of Companies. Months before graduation, the program also actively engaged the 50 best students to explore possible on-the-job training or management training opportunities with Ayala Group of Companies upon graduation.

MR. MANUEL represents a valuable symbol of the University’s resolve to send out young leaders and evidence of the business curriculum's relevance to satisfy the industry's needs. DR. JOEL B. TAN, currently the Research Coordinator of the Professional Schools and one of the Accountancy Program faculty, was himself an alumnus of the Ayala Young Leaders Congress back in 2003, which proudly manifested his excellence and, through him an example, the success of this prestigious national platform.
