What is "Prototypes for Humanity"?

Prototypes for Humanity is a global platform that brings together innovators from all corners of the world to address critical challenges and create a better future. The initiative celebrates and supports innovative solutions that tackle pressing global issues, such as environmental sustainability, social progress, and technological advancement. By fostering collaboration, the platform encourages transformative ideas that drive positive change, offering innovators a stage to showcase their impactful projects and connect with like-minded individuals and organizations.

What We Hope to Achieve

In a world increasingly affected by misinformation and disinformation, scientists have a vital role to play in promoting evidence-based knowledge. Through participation in Prototypes for Humanity, we aim to highlight how research and academia contribute to solving some of the world's most pressing issues. Our goal is to engage with a global network of innovators, showcasing the role of science and research in fostering social progress and creating sustainable solutions for the common good.

Why This Platform is Valuable

While impactful research lays the foundation for innovation, translating ideas into real-world applications can be challenging. Prototypes for Humanity bridges this gap by connecting innovators with global peers, investors, and private-sector organizations. This collaboration accelerates the prototyping and scaling of transformative solutions, ensuring they reach the communities that need them the most. By participating in this platform, IamaBuild aims to leverage these opportunities to bring its research into real-world solutions for global challenges.

Supporting Sustainable Development Goal 9: Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure

IamaBuild directly supports SDG 9: Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure, which focuses on building resilient infrastructure, promoting inclusive and sustainable industrialization, and fostering innovation. By developing a smart concrete solution using indigenous waste materials, IamaBuild addresses infrastructure challenges while promoting sustainability. This innovation aligns with the global call for more sustainable and resource-efficient practices, contributing to the advancement of infrastructure that supports sustainable development.

With IamaBuild's inclusion in the Prototypes for Humanity 2024 Exhibition, the University of Mindanao proudly showcases the power of innovation and research, aiming to create meaningful change for a sustainable future.
