Empowering Adlai Farmers through Innovation: How UM RPC and CEE bring Technology to Kinabuhi Farms

The Research and Publication Center (RPC) hosted a transformative event at Kinabuhi Organic Farms & Agriventures, Inc. (KOFAI), introducing groundbreaking Adlai technologies to local farmers. This program, titled "๐—˜๐—บ๐—ฝ๐—ผ๐˜„๐—ฒ๐—ฟ๐—ถ๐—ป๐—ด ๐—–๐—ผ๐—บ๐—บ๐˜‚๐—ป๐—ถ๐˜๐—ถ๐—ฒ๐˜€ ๐—ง๐—ต๐—ฟ๐—ผ๐˜‚๐—ด๐—ต ๐—œ๐—ป๐—ป๐—ผ๐˜ƒ๐—ฎ๐˜๐—ถ๐—ผ๐—ป," focused on deploying, demonstrating, and training participants on advanced milling and threshing solutions to enhance efficiency and reduce post-harvest losses.

The event was attended by the Research and Publication Team, led by ๐——๐—ฟ. ๐— ๐—ฎ๐—ฟ๐—ถ๐—ฎ ๐—Ÿ๐—ถ๐—ป๐—ฑ๐—ฎ ๐—•. ๐—”๐—ฟ๐—พ๐˜‚๐—ถ๐˜‡๐—ฎ, Vice President for Research and Publication, and the College of Engineering Education, headed by their Dean,๐——๐—ฟ. ๐—–๐—ต๐—ฎ๐—ฟ๐—น๐—ถ๐˜๐—ผ ๐—Ÿ. ๐—–๐—ฎรฑ๐—ฒ๐˜€๐—ฎ๐—ฟ๐—ฒ๐˜€. Their presence highlighted the Universityโ€™s commitment, under the leadership of ๐——๐—ฟ. ๐—š๐˜‚๐—ถ๐—น๐—น๐—ฒ๐—ฟ๐—บ๐—ผ ๐—ฃ. ๐—ง๐—ผ๐—ฟ๐—ฟ๐—ฒ๐˜€, ๐—๐—ฟ., to empower communities through collaborative innovation. Additionally, the event was honored by the participation of Atty. Lucky Siegfred M. Balleque., the Director of the DTI Davao City Field Office from the Department of Trade and Industry Region XI. Representing KOFAI were ๐Œ๐ซ. ๐‰๐จ๐ฌ๐ž๐ฉ๐ก ๐‘๐จ๐๐ซ๐ข๐ ๐ฎ๐ž๐ณ, CEO; ๐Œ๐ฌ. ๐‚๐ž๐œ๐ข๐ฅ๐ข๐š ๐‹. ๐‘๐จ๐๐ซ๐ข๐ ๐ฎ๐ž๐ณ, COO, and their team.

Though still in the prototype stage, these technologies are already making a significant impact. They hold immense promise for advancing sustainable Adlai production in Davao City and the whole Davao Region, offering a pathway to improved food security and economic resilience.

The initiative, aligned with Sustainable Development Goals (๐—ฆ๐——๐—š ๐Ÿฎ: ๐—ญ๐—ฒ๐—ฟ๐—ผ ๐—›๐˜‚๐—ป๐—ด๐—ฒ๐—ฟ, ๐—ฆ๐——๐—š ๐Ÿต: ๐—œ๐—ป๐—ฑ๐˜‚๐˜€๐˜๐—ฟ๐˜†, ๐—œ๐—ป๐—ป๐—ผ๐˜ƒ๐—ฎ๐˜๐—ถ๐—ผ๐—ป, ๐—ฎ๐—ป๐—ฑ ๐—œ๐—ป๐—ณ๐—ฟ๐—ฎ๐˜€๐˜๐—ฟ๐˜‚๐—ฐ๐˜๐˜‚๐—ฟ๐—ฒ, and SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals), aimed to bolster sustainable agricultural practices while improving food security and reducing waste. Farmers and stakeholders participated in hands-on training sessions, gaining practical skills to optimize the use of these innovative technologies.

Participants praised the program's impact, citing its potential to revolutionize farming practices and strengthen community resilience. RPC intends to expand this initiative, continuing its mission to empower rural communities through innovation and sustainable solutions, especially towards Adlai production.
