How UM Fuels Future Innovators

In a dynamic display of creativity and collaboration, students from the UM Digos and UM Bansalan campuses gathered for a one-day ideation boot camp, a powerful initiative co-organized by UMasenso Hub and the Wadhwani Foundation.

The boot camp, designed to unlock entrepreneurial thinking and inspire innovative problem-solving, brought together young minds eager to make a difference. Spearheading the session was Ms. Mary Rose Ofiangia, who led as Head Facilitator, joined by Ms. Dianne Leyson, Mr. Aaron Arquillano, and Mr. Mark Baligia. Their collective expertise guided participants through a series of engaging workshops and hands-on mentorship sessions.

Students were divided into 10 teams and tasked with crafting and pitching innovative solutions to real-world problems, turning ideas into actionable concepts. Each pitch was a testament to the students’ ingenuity and commitment to creating positive change in their communities.

This initiative is closely aligned with Sustainable Development Goal 4: Quality Education, which emphasizes inclusive, equitable learning and the promotion of lifelong opportunities. Through collaboration and innovation, the boot camp empowered students to think critically, work creatively, and act impactfully.

UMasenso Hub continues to be a driving force in nurturing a culture of innovation and technopreneurship within the UM community. By equipping students with essential skills and the mindset to address complex societal challenges, the university reaffirms its commitment to shaping future-ready leaders and building a sustainable tomorrow.
