Helping Save Lives: UM's 56th Blood Donation Drive

The University of Mindanao successfully concluded its 56th Blood Donation last January 22, 2025, at the PS Lobby, UM Matina Campus. This initiative was spearheaded by the UM Administrative Employees Association (UMAEA) in collaboration with SPMC- Blood Production Services / DOH-XI to help save lives and promote the spirit of volunteerism among students, faculty, and staff. The event turned out to be successful as numerous blood donors participated to extend their support to the in-demand need for blood in local medical facilities.

Organizing this event corresponds to SDG #3 - Good Health and Well-being in which the university focuses, demonstrating its commitment to community welfare and social responsibility.

The blood donation drive not only addresses immediate healthcare needs but also fosters a culture of giving, which is integral to creating sustainable and healthy communities. By actively engaging students, faculty, and staff in such initiatives, the university contributes to the broader global effort to improve health outcomes and ensure access to essential medical services for all. This collaboration highlights the university’s role in advancing global goals while strengthening local health systems.
