The University of Mindanao officially opened its new state-of-the-art learning and information center at the Matina campus on January 29, 2024, closing the doors of the old library located on the 4th floor of the BE Building.

Now considered as the largest library in Mindanao, the three-story building has a total floor area of 1.2 hectares designed to accommodate 2,000 seats at once. The first and second floors of the library, furnished with bookshelves, tables, chairs, and sofas, are intended for the use of university students, teachers, and other university personnel. In addition, fourteen discussion rooms located on the first floor are available to book in advance for group session utilizations. Meanwhile, a convention center suited for meetings and conferences is located on the third floor, and nestled just in front of the library is a statue dedicated to the late president Dr. Dolores P. Torres. A new audio-visual room is also located at the ground floor to cater to functions requiring small seating capacity.
