Davao del Sur Embraces ProWESS System for Streamlined Scholarship Renewals

UM Digos College faculty leads ProWESS system orientation during scholarship renewal on August 5, 2024.

UM Digos College - Marking a significant step in streamlining educational opportunities and support for students, the Provincial Government of Davao del Sur, under the leadership of Governor Yvonne R. Cagas, proudly introduced the ProWESS (Provincial Workforce Enabling Scholarship System) Project during the annual renewal of scholarship applications on August 5, 2024. Thousands of scholars from the ten (10) local government units of the province gathered at the Davao del Sur Coliseum, collectively sharing enthusiasm and optimism as they familiarized themselves with the ProWESS scholarship application process.

Hailed as a transformative approach initiated by UM Digos College in partnership with the Davao del Sur Public Employment Service Office (PESO), the system ensures that deserving students continue to receive the support they need. The ProWESS system is a digital platform created to make the scholarship application and renewal process swift and easy.

It is anticipated that the initial rollout of ProWESS may encourage other provinces to develop comparable systems, advancing a modernized and streamlined provision of educational support throughout the country. As the renewal term draws to an end, the Provincial Government of Davao del Sur is eager to observe the benefits of this cutting-edge technology.

For now, the students of Davao del Sur can rest assured that their educational journey is supported by a system designed to meet their needs, allowing them to focus on achieving their academic goals and aspirations.

The ProWESS project is a DOST-funded initiative under the GODDESS Program of UM Digos College, addressing the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals 4 (Quality Education), 9 (Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure), and 10 (Reduced Inequalities).
