CTE-BPE Student Joins 2024 Inaugural Summit for Internationally Outstanding Honor Students in Kinesiology
Dr. Timothy Baghurst doniated his book, 'Reflections on the Coaching Life,' to the university library, facilitated by Jerry Yan L. Lucenda, an delegate IOHSK delegate representing CTE-BPE, and Junald Jay L. Versano, BPE Program Head. The donation was received by Dr. Brigida Bacani, Head of LIC, and Mam Gina Elman, Acquisition Librarian.
In a significant contribution to the field of physical education, health, sports, and kinesiology, the College of Teacher Education (CTE), particularly the Bachelor of Physical Education (BPE) students from the University of Mindanao, actively participated in the International Summit for Internationally Outstanding Honor Students in Kinesiology (IOHSK) held at the University of Santo Tomas from April 1-5, 2024. Among the delegates was Jerry Yan L. Lucenda, who represented the BPE program, with mentorship from the program head, Prof. Junald Jay Versano. The event not only provided opportunities for research workshops and collaboration but also involved Dr. Timothy Baghurst himself donating his book, 'Reflections on the Coaching Life,' to the university's library, making it more significant.

With the support of the International Organization for Health, Sports, and Kinesiology, led by Dr. Hosung So, Jerry Yan's participation contributed to bridging knowledge gaps and fostering international connections in the field. Through this event, students were able to engage with renowned authors and scholars, gaining valuable insights and resources to enhance their understanding of physical education and kinesiology. As highlighted by Jerry Yan, the essence of sharing knowledge and empowering others reflects the ethos of true ambassadors in the field, emphasizing the importance of collaboration and collective growth in achieving shared goals.
