CBAE Delegate Shine in the Prestigious AMCHAM Business Plan Competition

The American Chamber of Commerce of the Philippines, last June 10, held its annual Business Leadership Program, which featured the highly expected Business Plan Competition. Among the prominent participants was Team TRI_UMph, a diverse group of students from various universities and disciplines nationwide who demonstrated exemplary excellence and collaboration, impressively earning 2nd place.

MS. DONNAMAE TORMIS, a third-year BS in Real Estate Management (BS REM), represented the University of Mindanao and collaborated with students from the UP Visayas, Holy Angel University, Far Eastern University, Iligan Institute of Technology and University of San Carlos to form the Team TRI_UMPh, exemplifying the essence of teamwork and innovation.

There were 30 top delegates meticulously selected to propose a practical regional development plan for the Philippines National Government’s targeted region. The objective was to enhance the nation’s economic health, prioritize sustainability, improve social welfare in the targeted communities, and intensify their positive impact. 

The selected panel of distinguished and top-caliber executives from various industries, including banking, engineering, and educational institutions, methodically evaluated Team TRIU_MPh’s business plan. The judges applauded the team’s innovative techniques and the possibility of their proposal to impact regional development and sustainability significantly. The acknowledgment recognizes the ability of the students from these universities and their commitment to driving positive change through strategic business solutions.

The achievement of Team TRIU_MPh brought honor and prestige to their institutions while accentuating the significance of interdisciplinary collaboration to address complex socio-economic challenges. Congratulations to MS. DONNAMAE TORMIS for her outstanding performance and dedication. She serves as an inspiration to future participants and a manifestation of the bright future of business leadership in the country.
