Career Opportunities Abound at UM Career Fair Week

The University of Mindanao conducted a Career Fair Week in line with the second term, second semester batch of CAED 500 enrollees. This week-long Career Fair aimed to highlight important aspects of the world of work and to simulate particular experiences for the graduating students of the university. This activity is part of the university’s efforts in preparing its students and ensuring that they are equipped not only with the technical skills to do the job, but also that they are employable.

The Career Fair kicked off with a free professional pictorial session in partnership with Jobstreet by SEEK, giving students the opportunity to have high-quality photos for their job applications. This was followed by a series of career talks, starting with representatives from the Land Bank of the Philippines and the Social Security System (SSS), who shared insights into the employment landscape and financial readiness.

A mock interview session provided students with valuable experience and feedback, further equipping them with confidence and communication skills. The week continued with a talk from SGV & Co., offering guidance on career development and industry expectations.

This initiative directly supports the university’s commitment to SDG 4 - Quality Education, by enhancing students’ readiness for life beyond the classroom, and SDG 8 - Decent Work and Economic Growth, by promoting career readiness and employability among graduates.

The event concluded with a culmination program, marking the successful wrap-up of a week dedicated to career preparation and professional growth. The initiative is part of the university's broader efforts to ensure its graduates are not only academically competent but also employable and career-ready.
