Building Meaningful Connections: Career Counselors Summit 2025


The University of Mindanao successfully hosted the Career Counselors Summit 2025 on January 11, 2025, at Cagliari Hall. Organized by the External Relations and International Affairs Office, the summit brought together Career Guidance Officers from various private and public schools across the city. The event served as a platform to exchange ideas, explore emerging career trends, and highlight UM’s unwavering commitment to preparing students for academic and professional success.

The program featured three engaging sessions led by expert speakers, Mr. Silvino Josol, Head of GSTC, who shared valuable insights into UM’s guidance framework during Pioneering Student Success. Suzette Jane Antiveros, Senior Labor and Employment Officer from DOLE, emphasized bridging the gap between education and employment in preparing for the workforce.

Meanwhile, Rafael Dela Cruz, Candidate Marketing Lead at Jobstreet Philippines, discussed navigating digital-era career opportunities in Unlocking Career Opportunities in the Digital Era. Adding a personal touch, Angel Alicaba, a UMAL member and a former outbound exchange student, delivered an inspiring talk on her life-changing experience as an exchange student at King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi, Thailand.
