4 Faculty Exchange Programs in 2025–2026 Strengthen UM–UBJ Ties

Davao City, Philippines  As part of the ongoing collaboration between University of Mindanao (UM) and Universitas Bhayangkara Jakarta Raya (UBJ), two faculty members from UBJ, Indonesia, were welcomed for a courtesy visit and academic engagement held at the UM Matina Campus on January 21, 2026.

Dr. Luisa Sulastri from UBJ’s Faculty of Law and Dr. Joseph Martinio Jocrien from the Faculty of Economics and Business met with UM officials, including Eugenio S. Guhao, Jr., Chief Academic Officer; Ronnie Amorado, Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs; Reynaldo Castro, Vice President for External Relations and International Affairs; and Deans Carmelita Chavez and Vicente Montaño of the College of Criminal Justice Education (CCJE) and College of Business and Accountancy Education (CBAE), respectively.

They were also joined by Glenndon Sobrejuanite, Assistant Dean of CBAE, program heads, and research collaborators from the host colleges.

Anchored on research collaboration, the faculty exchange provides opportunities for joint studies, scholarly exchange, and knowledge sharing between UM and UBJ. In addition to collaborative research, the visiting faculty will deliver guest lectures in selected courses, enriching classroom discussions with international perspectives and professional expertise.

This exchange reflects the growing partnership between UM and UBJ, highlighting UM’s dedication to internationalization, academic excellence, and global collaboration that benefits students, faculty, and the broader academic community.

The program continues a reciprocal exchange initiated last October–December 2025, when two UM faculty members from the BA Communication and Bachelor of Physical Education programs visited UBJ for a similar faculty exchange program.
