59 Participants Join the AUN-QA Self-Assessment Report (SAR) Writing Workshop

The University of Mindanao, in collaboration with Education Quality International, is currently hosting its first-ever AUN-QA Self-Assessment Report (SAR) Writing Workshop. The initiative aims to enhance program-level assessment and promote a culture of continuous quality improvement in higher education.

Held at AVR 4, Library Building, UM Matina Campus, the three-day workshop began on May 7 and has brought together 56 participants from 16 higher education institutions across the Philippines. Attendees include university presidents, vice presidents for academic affairs, deans, program heads, and quality assurance officers, demonstrating a unified commitment to academic excellence and institutional development.

The workshop is led by Mr. Johnson Ong Chee Bin, AUN-QA Quality Master and Principal Consultant, and co-facilitated by Dr. Nguyen Thi My Ngoc, AUN-QA Assessor and Training Specialist. Both are highly respected experts in the field of higher education quality assurance, bringing invaluable insight and expertise to the program.

This initiative directly supports SDG 4 - Quality Education by fostering strong quality assurance mechanisms that ensure inclusive, equitable, and effective learning environments. By strengthening internal quality systems, UM and its partner institutions aim to raise the standard of higher education and contribute to the long-term development of a well-educated, globally competitive workforce.

This event marks a significant step toward advancing quality assurance practices in the Philippine higher education landscape, reinforcing UM’s role in fostering collaboration and elevating academic standards nationwide.
