Four Students Shine on the Global Stage

Two students from the College of Engineering Education and one from the College of Arts and Sciences Education are representing the university to the ASEAN Student Mobility Programme, held in conjunction with the ASEAN Universities Exhibition and Forum 2025 (AEF2025), slated for February 19–25, 2025, in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

Clifford represented the university in the ASEAN Young Speaker Contest held in virtual sessions, advancing to the semis as one of the 21 students out of the 83 others in three different speech themes. Meanwhile, Angel and Ryan will showcase their innovative thinking and collaborative skills in the ASEAN Future Innovators Challenge, where they will propose creative solutions to real-world ASEAN issues.

The students will be hosted by respective top-notch universities in Malaysia from February 19–23, 2025. The Universiti Utara Malaysia hosts Clifford, Angel to the Universiti Teknologi Petronas, and Ryan to Universiti Teknikal Malaysia Melaka.
This event is organized by the Ministry of Education and several Higher Education Institutions in Malaysia and is intended to promote creativity, leadership, and teamwork. The program seeks to address regional issues and further the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) through meaningful exchange and impactful activities.
On the other hand, Second-year BS Computer Engineering student Tim Robin Remeticado embarks on a transformative two-week journey at CommTECH Camp Insight 2025 – Stream 2: Technology Innovations at Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS) in Surabaya, Indonesia, from February 20 to March 3, 2025.

This prestigious program blends technology innovation with cultural immersion, featuring workshops, seminars, and hands-on activities that highlight ITS’s cutting-edge advancements and their real-world impact. Participants will delve into automotive technology, computer science breakthroughs, and sustainable environmental solutions while also experiencing Indonesian culture through language courses, traditional games, and cultural exchanges.
