12 National Topnotchers and Counting: Why Students Choose UM

Davao City, Philippines - University of Mindanao President Dr. Guillermo P. Torres Jr. led the awarding of monetary incentives to 12 UM topnotchers from recent licensure examinations: 10 from the College of Arts and Sciences Education in the September 2025 Social Worker Licensure Examination, and 2 from the College of Criminal Justice Education in the August 2025 Criminology Licensure Examination.

UM also proudly recognizes all its board passers, whose dedication and perseverance contributed to this outstanding achievement.

Both colleges earned national recognition as top-performing schools in their fields, with the College of Criminal Justice Education ranking 2nd nationwide and the College of Arts and Sciences Education placing 7th in their respective examinations.

This accomplishment directly supports United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 4: Quality Education, reflecting UM’s role in producing competent professionals who contribute to national development and global progress.

The proud tradition of celebrating topnotchers and passers underscores UM’s enduring commitment to academic excellence and serves as an inspiration for the next generation of graduates to strive for even greater success.
